The Beginning Story of AMSOIL
Al Amatuzio spent his service career as a jet fighter pilot. During this time, he developed a great appreciation for the synthetic oils used to help the jet engines run smoothly and dependably.  He knew that only these synthetic lubricants could stand up to the punishing, hard use of those engines while handling the sever temperatures they had to endure. He also knew that these lubricants would provide the same benefits to cars, trucks and other internal combustion engines.
In the mid 60's, Al began the task of making this idea into a reality. He gathered some of the industry's most knowledgeable chemists, and formulated the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet American Petroleum Institute service requirements.
The introduction of AMSOIL synthetic motor oil in 1972 set all new standards for motor oil quality. It out performed all other conventional petroleum motor oil available at that time, and it was clear this innovative new oil would play a major role in the life and performance of engines for years to come.

Today, virtually all the other motor oil manufacturers have recognized the superiority of synthetic lubricants and have introduced products of their own, but there is only one AMSOIL product line.
